Harley Astorga is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer originally from Olathe, Kansas. As a lifelong music aficionado he naturally found work early on in his career in music videos, which much of his work still revolves around. He most recently shot the present-day footage for Jack Johnson: SURFILMUSIC (2026), a documentary chronicling the early days of musician Jack Johnson's story. More recent work includes See You When I Get Back (2026), a scripted horror-comedy indie feature about a fictionalized version of the band Inner Wave in their ascent to fame and stardom, shot entirely on 16mm film.
Though Harley works full-time as a cinematographer, he has extensive experience as an editor and periodically edits projects that he shoots. As a filmmaker that can see a project from start to finish he has instinctively found his footing as a director.
